Article: 2021 Midwest Premier League Men’s Soccer at Dubuque Soccer Complex, Dubuque, Iowa

Union Dubuque began and ended this game pointless in the Midwest Premier League (West Division), a fourth-tier men’s soccer league in the USA sanctioned through the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). Steel City FC were playing in their second ever league game and boasted a 100% record.

The game was played at the Dubuque Soccer Complex on the outskirts of the city. Previously, UD had played games at Loras College’s Rock Bowl Stadium.

Steel City FC are based in Joliet, Illinois, and were in their first season competing in the Midwest Premier League.

Some of the founding members of this new league were previously members of the UPSL (the United Premier Soccer League), which explains the logo on the ball.

The four goals in the game were all scored in the first half, which meant that the second half was a bit of a let-down, at least for the home team.

Steel City FC ended up taking all three points quite easily, taking them to six for the season after they also won their first game 5-3 against Cedar Rapids Inferno.
